I often sing this joyful rhyme: ( અમે નાના નાના બાળ અમે મોટા થાશું ને જગ દોરશું! ) 'We, small kids, will grow older and guide the world!' whenever I see the school kids studying in our hostel. It expresses my feelings about how, when they grow up, they will contribute significantly to the development of the world.
These kids are full of excitement! Leela, Hetal, Gayatri, Gita, Jhanavi, Kartik, Vipul, and Tarun all came to the hostel to study when they were little. Even though they are still young, their dreams are immense!
Leela once told me, 'Didi, you dreamed of becoming an IAS officer. But then you got involved in welfare work for our community. I, however, will become an officer when I grow up.' This sentiment is shared by Gayatri, Hetal, Vipul, and all the others.
Hetal has been studying in the hostel since she was very young. She is quite stubborn, but she is also sensitive and emotional. Gita's mother harbors big dreams for her daughters. Living in a small hut, she felt that the best chance for her daughters to receive an excellent education was to send them to the hostel from a young age.
All of the children have now completed either Std. 10 or Std. 12, and they have big dreams. We are committed to supporting them in achieving those dreams.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the honorable Shri Chandrakantbhai Gogri and the Aarti Parivar for their immense help in establishing a hostel system that provides children with an excellent education. We are also thankful for the support of many well-wishers who contributed to the construction of the hostel.
We are especially grateful for the continuous support from Respected Shri Pratulbhai Shroff of the Dr. K R Shroff Foundation, who ensures that the children in the hostel receive the best education possible. He has provided teachers to educate these children and has also helped cover hostel costs. Without his assistance, operating the hostel would be impossible. Pratulbhai is always involved in the management of the hostel and has taken on the responsibility of supporting the children's education. I am truly thankful for his kind and affectionate support.
We would also like to acknowledge the hard work of all our hostel staff: Dimpleben, Vanita, Jayantibhai, Bijol, Kiran, Ghanshyam, Vandana, Kokila, Surekha, Milan, Thakarashibhai, Chaturbhai, Tejalben, and others.
Education is a light that guides individuals out of darkness. Our children envision bright and promising futures. We sincerely wish for their dreams to come true!
આ મજાનું બાળગીત, અમારી હોસ્ટેલમાં ભણતા બાળકોને જ્યારે જોવું ત્યારે ગાલું ને કાલ આ બધા મોટા થશે ને જગતના ઘડતરમાં પોતાનું ઉત્તમ આપશે એવો ભાવ વ્યક્ત કરુ.
આમ આ બધા છે પણ મજાના. અમારી લીલા, હેતલ, ગાયત્રી, ગીતા, જાનવી, કાર્તીક, વિપુલ, તરુણ તો બહુ નાના હતા ત્યારથી હોસ્ટેલમાં ભણવા આવેલા. હતા બધા નાના પણ એમના સપનાઓ મોટા.
લીલા તો કહે,દીદી તમે IAS ઓફીસર બનવાનું સપનું સેવેલું પણ તમે અમારા સમુદાયના પરિચયમાં આવ્યા ને અમારા સમુદાયના કલ્યાણના કામોમાં લાગી ગયા તે હું મોટી થઈને અધિકારી બનીશ..
આવા જ સપના ગાયત્રી, હેતલ, વિપુલ સૌના.. હેતલ તો બહુ નાની હતી ત્યારથી હોસ્ટેલમાં ભણે સખત જીદ્દી પણ લાગણીવાળી પણ ખરી. ગીતાની મમ્મીના સમણા મોટા. એ ઝૂંપડામાં રહે. પણ પોતાની દીકરીઓ ઉત્તમ ભણે એવી લાગણી સાથે તેમણે નાનપણથી પોતાની દીકરીઓને હોસ્ટેલમાં ભણવા મૂકી.
આ બધાએ હવે ધો. 12 તો કેટલાકે ધો.10 પુરુ કર્યું. આ બધાના સમણા બહુ મોટા છે. પણ એ પુરા કરવામાં અમે એમના પડખે ઊભા રહીશું.
બાળકો ઉત્તમ ભણે તે માટે હોસ્ટેલ વ્યવસ્થા ઊભી કરવામાં આદરણીય ચંદ્રકાન્તભાઈ ગોગરી -આરતી પરિવારની સૌથી મોટી મદદ મળી, આ સિવાય પણ અનેક સ્વજનોએ હોસ્ટેલ બાંધકામમાં મદદ કરી એ સૌની લાગણી માટે આભારી.
હોસ્ટેલમાં ભણતા બાળકો ઉત્તમ ભણે તે માટે આદરણીય પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફ - ડો. કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશનની મદદ સતત મળે. એમણે આ બાળકોના ભણતર માટે શિક્ષકો પુરા પાડ્યા. આ સિવાય હોસ્ટેલ નિભાવ ખર્ચમાં પણ એમનો સહયોગ. એમની મદદ વગર હોસ્ટેલ વ્યવસ્થા ચલાવવી અસંભવ. પ્રતુલભાઈ તો હોસ્ટેલ વ્યવસ્થામાં સતત સાથે. બાળકોના શિક્ષણનો ભાર તેમણે ઉપાડી લીધો. તેમની આ લાગણી માટે આભારી છું.
અમારી હોસ્ટેલમાં રહીને ભણતા બાળકો અમારી હોસ્ટેલ આસપાસના ગામોમાં આવેલી વિવિધ શાળાઓમાં ભણે. આ શાળાના શિક્ષણગણની પણ આ બાળકોના ઘડતરમાં મહેનત. એમના અમે આભારી છીએ.
અમારી હોસ્ટેલનો તમામ સ્ટાફ પ્રિય ડીમ્પલબેન, વનીતા, જયંતીભાઈ,બીજોલ, કીરણ, ધનશ્યામ, વંદના, કોકીલા, સુરેખા, મીલન, ઠાકરશીભાઈ, ચતુરભાઈ, તેજલબેન વગેરેની મહેનતને પણ પ્રણામ.
શિક્ષણ એ એવો દિવો છે જે વ્યક્તિને અંધારામાંથી અજવાળા તરફ લઈ જાય છે. અમારા બાળકો અજવાળાના સ્વપ્નો જોવા માંડ્યા છે. બસ એમના સપના સાકાર થાય એવી શુભભાવના..

On International Women's Day, a story of our daughters...
"What will you do after studying?"
I asked this to the little girls standing in front of me—Khushi, Dipali, Drishti, Sonu, Manisha, and Neha.
At that time, none of them responded, as seen in this photo. They just looked ahead and gave me a beautiful smile as if to say, "We will carry on."
They had been with us since they were very young, coming to study at our hostel. Over the years, they studied here and passed their 12th grade. Later, there was concern about whether their families would allow them to continue their education.
But our joy came when one of them boldly said, "If we aren't allowed to study, we will run away from home."
I laughed and replied, "Such cases where daughters run away to study hardly ever happen. If that happens, you’ll be one of the rare cases."
After hearing this, all the girls burst into laughter.
Then I told them, "You should talk and explain to your family. If you convince them, they will let you study." And that's exactly what they did. The girls convinced their parents, who were initially concerned that if the daughters studied too much, they wouldn’t find suitable husbands. In a way, this concern was not entirely unreasonable.
But in the end, everything worked out.
Many girls who studied at our hostel have gone on to pursue nursing and diploma engineering. Some of these girls I recently met at a community wedding in the Bajaniya community.
I had no idea they would be there, but as soon as I entered the wedding hall, they ran to greet me. And then, there was a flood of conversations. Khushi said, "Didi, you should go on stage and talk to all the other girls about the importance of education."
So, we all went up on stage and spoke at length.
Our hope, as we shared with the girls, was this: "A daughter should be able to earn. If she can earn, she can face any challenges that come her way. She won't need anyone's support."
What a wonderful thought, and we are happy that the girls are now understanding it.
A special thanks to our Dimpleben, Harshad, Vanita, Jayantibhai, Bijol, and others for playing a crucial role in helping these girls reach this level of success.
We hope to be the reason for many such daughters to get an education, with God's blessings.
વિશ્વ મહિલા દિને અમારી દીકરીઓની વાત...
‘ભણીને શું કરશો?’
મારી સામે ઊભેલી નાનકડી ખુશી, દિપાલી, દૃષ્ટિ, સોનુ, મનીષા, નેહાને પુછ્યું.
એ વખતે આ ફોટોમાં દેખાય એ બધી સાવ ટબુડિયો એટલે કોઈ જવાબ ન આપ્યો.. બસ સામે જોઈને ઓવારી જઈએ એવું સુંદર સ્મિત આપ્યું.
અમારી હોસ્ટેલમાં બહુ નાની હતી ત્યારથી ભણવા આવેલી. વર્ષો સુધી અમારા ત્યાં ભણી ને ધો. 12 પાસ કર્યું. હવે બધાને ચિંતા હતી ઘરેથી આગળ ભણવા નહીં દે તોની.
પણ અમારી ખુશી તો જબરી એણે કહ્યું, ‘નહીં ભણવા તે દો ઘરેથી ભાગી જઈશું.’
એ વખતે હસી ને કહેલું, ‘ભણવા માટે દિકરી ભાગી આવા કિસ્સા દુનિયામાં ભાગ્યેજ બને. એ કિસ્સામાં તમારી ગણતરી થશે જો આવું થશે તો’ વાત સાંભળી બધી દીકરીઓ ખુબ હસેલી.
એ પછી, તમે સંવાદ કરજો ને પરિવારને સમજાવજો એ ભણવા મોકલશે એવું કહેલું. અને દિકરીઓએ મા-બાપને સમજાવ્યા. દિકરીઓ ભણી જશે તો પછી એમને લાયક દિકરો નહીં મળે તો ની ચિંતા મા-બાપને. એક રીતે આ ચિંતા વ્યાજબી પણ હતી. પણ બધુ ગોઠવાયું.
અમારી હોસ્ટેલમાં ભણીને ઘણી દીકરીઓ નર્સીગ અને ડિપ્લોમા એન્જીનીયરીંગમાં ગઈ. આ દીકરીઓમાંથી કેટલીકને હમણાં બજાણિયા સમુદાયના સમુહ લગ્નમાં મળવાનું થયું.
જરાય અંદાજ નહોતો કે આ બધા ત્યાં હશે. પણ હું જેવી મંડપમાં દાખલ થઈ કે, દોડીને ભેટી પડી. પછી તો વાતોના તડાકા. ખુશીએ તો કહ્યું, ‘દીદી તમે સ્ટેજ પર જઈને બીજા બધા દીકરીઓ ભણાવે એની વાત કરોને..’ને પછી અમે સૌ પહોંચ્યા સ્ટેજ પર ને ઘણી વાતો કરી..
અમારી આશા કહે, ‘દીદી દીકરી કમાતી હોવી જોઈએ. એ કમાય તો એના પર આવતી તમામ મુસીબતનો એ સામનો કરી શકે. એને કોઈના ટેકાની જરૃર ન પડે.’
વાત કેવી સરસ પણ દીકરીઓ હવે આ સમજી રહી છે એનો અમને આનંદ છે..
અમારા ડિમ્પલબેન, હર્ષદ, વનિતા, જયંતીભાઈ, બિજોલ અનેકોનો ફાળો આ દિકરીઓને આ સ્તરે પહોંચાડવામાં મહત્વનો.
બસ આવી અનેક દીકરીઓના ભણતરમાં નિમિત્ત બનીએ એવી ઈશ્વરને શુભભાવના...

For years, we have been working to educate and uplift children from marginalized communities. More than 200 children from our program are now pursuing various technical courses, nursing, and engineering. 87 of them have completed their education and are now working in small or large jobs or running their own businesses. Two children have even secured government jobs.
Many years ago, I saw the need to educate thousands of children. Even though there were no facilities, we started teaching children with whatever resources we had, working through the challenges. If we had waited for better resources, perhaps those 200 children wouldn’t have reached the point they are at today. Even the children who are studying in grade 10 and 12 might not have continued their education.
At first, we had a hostel in a rented space, but we faced many challenges with the location. Just like our families who have no fixed address, our children also needed a permanent address. That’s when we found a place in Pansar, Gandhinagar, where the honorable Shri Chandrakantbhai Gogari provided land, and we started building the hostel. The children began attending classes there in June 2024, although it will take another two years to set up the school. Currently, 13 children go to various schools, and while managing everything is a challenge, we understand that gold needs to be melted first to become a beautiful ornament.
This is how it has been for us. After facing the hardships, everything seems to be coming together. One of the hostel buildings is fully ready, and the other will be finished soon. The children are eagerly learning and growing.
In sports, our children achieved the highest positions in the sports competition held in Kalol Taluka, securing first, second, and third places. We have teachers for subjects where children are struggling, as well as for sports and music.
The sports ground will also be ready soon. It feels like our journey is picking up speed. But throughout all this, we’ve had the constant support of the honorable Shri Pratulbhai and Shri Chandrakantbhai, who kept reminding us that every construction takes time. Patience is key, and today, the results of that patience are visible.
Many of our children, who stayed in the hostel, are now performing excellently in their classes, securing first and second positions. We are proud to see their progress, but there is still much more to be done. We are committed to fulfilling all the plans we’ve set for Vallabh Vidya Vihar by 2028.
God has always been with us, and it is because of that support that all these works are being accomplished. The dream of achieving something big was given to us by nature, and we will continue working hard towards it. May God always be the cause of everyone’s success. 🌺🙏
વર્ષોથી વિચરતા તેમજ વંચિત સમુદાયના બાળકો ભણે એ માટે મથીયે. અમારા ત્યાં ભણેલા બાળકોમાંથી ૨૦૦ થી વધુ બાળકો વિવિધ ટેકનિક કોર્સ, નર્સિંગ, એન્જિયરિંગ ભણી રહ્યા છે. ૮૭ એ ભણવાનું પૂરું કર્યું આજે એ નાની મોટી નોકરી, પોતાનો ધંધો કરી રહ્યા છે. બે બાળકો તો સરકારી નોકરીમાં પણ લાગ્યા..
એક સમણું વર્ષો પહેલા હજારો બાળકોને ભણાવવાનું જોયું. બધે સગવડ તો નહોતી છતાં જે હતું એની વચ્ચે એટલે કે અગવડોમાં બાળકોને ભણાવવાનું શરૂ કર્યું. જો કે સગવડની વાટ જોઈ હોત તો ૨૦૦ બાળકો આજે જ્યાં પહોચ્યા ત્યાં કદાચ ન પહોચ્યા હોત. આજે ધો. અને ૧૨ ભણતા બાળકોમાંથી પણ કદાચ કેટલાનું ભણવાનું છૂટ્યું હોત.
ભાડાની જગ્યા તો કોઈએ વાપરવા આપેલી જગ્યામાં હોસ્ટેલ ચાલતી પણ જગ્યા બદલવામાં થાક્યા.
સરનામા વગરના અમારા પરિવારોની જેમ અમારા બાળકો માટે સરનામું જોઈતું હતું. જે ગાંધીનગરના પાનસરમાં મળ્યું. આદરણીય ચંદ્રકાંતભાઈ એ જમીન આપી. ને હોસ્ટેલ બાંધવાનું શરૂ કર્યું. અધૂરા બાંધકામ વચ્ચે જૂન ૨૦૨૪ થી બાળકો ત્યાં ભણવા આવ્યા. અમે હોસ્ટેલ શરૂ કરી પણ શાળા કરવામાં હજુ બે વર્ષ જશે. હાલ ૧૩ શાળામાં બાળકો ભણવા જાય. અમને આ બધું મેનેજ કરવામાં તકલીફ પણ પડે પણ કે છે ને સોનાનું ઘરેણું બનવા માટે સોનાએ પ્રથમ ઓગળવું પડે.
બસ આવું જ કંઈક અમારું થયું. તપ્યા પછી હવે જાણે બધું ગોઠવાયું. હોસ્ટેલના મકાનોમાંથી એક મકાન સંપૂર્ણ તૈયાર થયું ને બીજું હવે ટૂંકમાં પતશે.. બાળકોના પણ મજાનું ભણવા મંડ્યા.
રમતગમતમાં તો કલોક તાલુકામાં યોજાયેલા ખેલ મહાકુંભમાં મહત્તમ અમારા બાળકો પ્રથમ, દ્વિતીય અને તૃતીય નબર લઈ આવ્યા.
ભણવામાં નબળા બાળકો માટે શિક્ષકો, રમતગમત તેમજ સંગીત માટે પણ શિક્ષકો.
રમતગમતનું મેદાન પણ ટૂંક સમયમાં બનવાનું શરૂ થશે.
ગાડી જાણે હવે પાટે ચડી. પણ આ બાળકોના શિક્ષણમાં મદદ કરતા આદરણીય પ્રતુલભાઈ, ચંદ્રકાંતભાઈ બધા સતત કહે દરેક નિર્માણ ને સમય લાગે. ત્યાં સુધી ધીરજ ધરવી અગત્યની.. ક્યારેય ઉતાવળ કે કોઈ કામ ન થયું હોય તો મને પ્રતુલભાઈ ધીરજ રાખવા કહે ને આજે એ ધીરજના પરિણામ દેખાઈ રહ્યા છે.
અમારા કેટલાય બાળકો એ જે નિશાળમાં ભણે એ નિશાળમાં ઉત્તમ પ્રદર્શન કરી વર્ગમાં પ્રથમ, દ્વિતીય આવી રહ્યા છે.
બાળકોની પ્રગતિ જોઈને રાજી. પણ હજુ ઘણું કરવાનું છે. ૨૦૨૮ સુધીમાં વલ્લભ વિદ્યા વિહારમાં જેટલું પણ કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું છે એ બધું જ પૂરું કરવાનું કરીશું.
કુદરત હંમેશા સાથે છે એટલે જ આ બધા કામો થાય. આવડું મોટું સ્વપ્ન જોવાની હામ એણે જ આપી. આગળનું પણ એ જોશે અમે અમારા ભાગમા આવતી મહેનત કરીશું.
સૌના સુભમાં ઈશ્વર હંમેશા નિમિત્ત બનાવે એવી શુભભાવના 🌺🙏

A good news to share…
The STD 12 Board Exam results are declared and the 11 students from our hostel – who appeared this year – passed with flying colours.
Most of these students have been part of our hostel from their early childhood and have created a strong emotional bond with all of us. It is very hard for them to leave the hostel and are certainly feeling very sad and heavy on their hearts. Consoling these heavy hearted souls, we said, “It is your time to fly high in the sky and make it yours. The world out there is waiting to embrace you. Don’t sit behind; Go out and mark an everlasting impression of your wit and valor to the world and prove your worth.”
One of our daughters – Neeta – whom we did not expect to clear the recent board exams. Every time she went home during vacations, her parents had to try head-to-toe to convince her to come back to the hostel. But she did it and did it with flying colours. Other children like Rekha, Parvati, Pinkal – all of them have been hard working and dedicated to their studies.
Sumit – who was enrolled in the Hostel by Respected Smt. Meghashri Bhave – knew us as he used to come to our office off and on before he was enrolled to our hostel. Although, the first time I met him in the hostel, his gloomy face shed tears down his cheeks. Though, it took him some time to adjust but he managed successfully.
Our Manisha has many physical issues, but she worked very hard and the results have paid. Same is the case with Priyanka too… In fact, each and every child has worked really hard…
We now feel that the efforts we put in are reaping its fruits.
Vandanaben taught these children through online classes without taking any fees for the last seven years – not only these children but many others too. She used to teach them from 5:00 am to 7:00 am in the morning. Bijol, Kokila, Ghanshyam used to wake these children in the morning. We will be eternally indebted to her and her concern for the children. Thank you so much Vandanaben…
Our Dimpleben deserves a huge applause for her hard work. She is always concerned about the children’s future. That is why we could get this result.
Vanita also gave her best for the children of our Hostels and ensured that they get the best from the organization.
It is with this combined team effort that we could achieve this success. It is indeed the result of Team Work.
Ganeshbhai who has joined us recently will also be shaping the future of the children now. We are grateful to Shri Thakarshibhai Rabari - the Cook - for ensuring delicious meals to the children; to Shri Chaturbhai Raval – the driver - for safe travelling of the children and Smt. Manjuben Nai – the caretaker - for giving motherly care to the children. All their efforts have made this possible.
Last but not the least; not all this could have been possible without concerned and empathising support of so many well-wishers. We give special recognition to Aarti Foundation, Giants Group of Central Mumbai, Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation and all of our donors and well-wishers for their humongous, ever-ready and loving support.

There is a very strong reason to say Thank You. The reason dates back to 2008. From one settlement we brought one girl to the hostel for studies. After that the girl's father called up.
He said " Ben, my wife rubbed kerosene on her hands and said "bring my daughter back otherwise I will burn myself to death". My wife will not understand your sentiments. Kindly send my daughter back home from the hostel otherwise my wife will burn herself.".
Many years ago we started the mission to educate the children of the nomadic community.. We bring children to the hostel but within two days the parents would protest and take the children back home. Lack of education leads to such acts. One can understand that the situation is very bad. There were no positive feelings towards education. Most of them considered education as a waste of time & efforts.
But we are determined to alter the mindset . To have an education set up one needs a place. We did not have a place of our own. We either took it on rent or someone voluntarily gave it to use. We started hostels & started to educate children.Gradually we realised that we will need a place of our own.There was an inconvenience of vacating the rented places and restarting again at a new place. When it is difficult to move with one child, one can imagine the difficulty that will have to be faced with 300 children. Finally we bought a large piece of land in Pansar with the help of Shri Chandrakantbhai Gogri.& started construction of Hostel. It is possible to accommodate & educate 1000 children and that is what we are aiming at. In the first phase we are constructing a hostel. It is a huge financial outlay but we are hopeful that with the help of our donors we will reach the goal.
Recently, respected Dr Nitinbhai Sumant Shah gave a donation of Rs 25 lakhs towards our Pansar Hostel. He has shown his willingness to contribute further to the cause in the near future. We are thankful for his kind feelings. Nitinbhai is always with us in all our work at VSSM. Nitinbhai is a benevolent donor and regularly contributes towards various causes. We salute him, Pratikshaben & family for their continuous support.
Shri Mahendrabhai Patel of Lincoln Pharmaceuticals, Ahmedabad is a unique personality. A man who donates without our asking. He had earlier donated Rs 10 lakhs and he further sent Rs 5 lakhs. We are thankful & obliged to Shri Mahendraabhai & his family.
We request all to join in this herculean task. Through social media several of our well wishers see the work VSSM is doing. We request all to contribute their might.

આભાર માનવાનું કારણ જબરુ છે. વાત છે 2008ની... એક વસાહતમાંથી અમે દિકરીને હોસ્ટેલમાં ભણવા લઈ આવ્યા એ પછી દિકરીના પિતાનો ફોન આવ્યો.
'ઓ બુન મારી વઉએ હાથમોં ઘાસતેલ લીધું હ્. કેસ ક સોડીન પાસી લાવો નકર મું હળગી મરે. તમારી ભાવના મારુ બૈરુ નઈ હમજઅ. મેરબોની કરીન ભલા થઈન સોડીન પાસી મેલી જો નકર આ હળગી....'
વર્ષો પહેલાં વિચરતી જાતિના બાળકોને ભણાવવાની મુહીમ શરૃ કરી. બાળકોને હોસ્ટેલમાં લઈ આવેલી એ વખતે વાલીઓનો આવો વિરોધ. બાળકોને અમે લઈ આવીએ અને વાલીઓ બે દિવસમાં બાળકને પરત લઈ જાય.
ભણતર નથી એટલે દશા ખરાબ એ સીધુ સમજાતું હતું. છતાં શિક્ષણ પ્રત્યે મોટાભાગના ઉદાસીન.
પણ અમે સ્થિતિ બદલવાનો નિર્ધાર કર્યો. અમારી પોતાની જગ્યા નહોતી અમે ભાડાની તો ક્યાંક કોઈએ વાપરવા આપેલી જગ્યામાં હોસ્ટેલ શરૃ કરીને બાળકોને ભણાવવાની શરૃઆત કરી.
ધીમે ધીમે પોતાની જગ્યા જોઈશે નો અહેસાસ થયો. મૂળ તો વારંવાર જગ્યાઓ ખાલી કરવાની થાય. એક બાળક સાથે ઘર કે ગામ બદલવાનું અઘરુ થાય ત્યાં 300 બાળકો સાથે તો કેવું કપરુ?
આખરે પોતાની જગ્યા જે ક્યારેય લેવી નહોતી એ લેવાનું નક્કી કર્યું ને પાનસરમાં આદરણીય ચંદ્રકાન્તભાઈ ગોગરીની મદદથી ઘણી મોટી જગ્યા લીધી. આ જગ્યા પર 1000 બાળકોને ભણાવવાના મનોરથ છે. પ્રથમ ફેઝમાં હોસ્ટેલ બાંધી રહ્યા છીએ.
ખર્ચ મોટો છે પણ સમાજ પર શ્રદ્ધા છે. ટીપે ટીપે સરોવર ભરાય એમ અનુદાન આવી રહ્યું છે.
હમણાં આદરણીય નિતીન સુમંત શાહ - હાર્ટ ફાઉન્ડેશને પાનસરમાં બંધાનારા વલ્લભ વિદ્યાસંકુલ માટે 25 લાખનું અનુદાન આપ્યું. હજુ વધારે અનુદાન તેમના તરફથી મળશે. તેમની લાગણી માટે આભારી છીએ. નિતીનભાઈ VSSM ના દરેક કાર્યોમાં હંમેશાં અમારી સાથે.. આમ તો નિતીનભાઈ ઘણા સેવાકાર્યોમાં છુટાહાથે દાન કરે.. તેમની આ સખાવતને પ્રણામ

Importance of sports in our lives is immense. We believe that we can play only upto a particular age. However it is not necessarily so. One can play sports till the very end of one's life & the one who can do so will mostly remain young & fit.
In the school our sports teacher tells us to participate in various competitions. For that teacher also trains us. When one plays any sport it helps us in our mental & physical growth. It also builds our self confidence & imbibes us with the team spirit.
You may wonder why I have written so much about sports since I normally do not.
The reason is that something special happened that has given us a lot of pride.
In one of our hostels jointly run with Vishwa Mangalam, our students in Kabbadi Competition came 2nd at Taluka level. Five members of the team got selected to play at the District level & this team at the District level came first. This team will now play at the Zonal level.
The major credit for this achievement of our boys go to our sports teacher Shri Dillipbhai who gave the boys gruelling training & motivated them to practice hard. Along with him, working hard was our ex-student & our colleague at VSSM, Shri Karsanbhai.
All the children staying in our hostel have to mandatorily take part in sports & games. The girls team in various sports is also getting ready. Our Dimpleben Parekh works dedicatedly with the children. Her guidance & support of all who work in the hostel has played a big role in developing sports culture. Our best wishes for the success of our children.
રમતગમતનું આપણા જીવનમાં ઘણું મહત્વ. આમ તો આપણે સૌ રમવાની એક ઉંમર હોય એવું માની પણ જે માણસ જીવનના અંત સુધી શારીરિક રમત રમી શકે તે માણસ મોટાભાગે નરામયી રહે.
નિશાળમાં અભ્યાસ દરમ્યાન આપણને વિવિધ હરીફાઈઓમાં ભાગ લેવડાવવાનું કામ આપણા રમતગમતના શિક્ષક કરે. એ માટે આપણને સજ્જ પણ કરે. આમ તો રમત રમવાથી આપણો શારીરિકની સાથે સાથે માનસીક વિકાસ થાય, સાથે આત્મવિશ્વાસમાં પણ વધારો થાય. અને ટીમ તરીકે ક્યાંક જવાબદારી લેવાનો ગુણ પણ વિકસે.
તમને થશે આમ રમતગમત વિષે આટલું લાંબુ કેમ લખ્યું...
પણ વાત જરા ગૌરવ લેવા જેવી બની.
વિશ્વ મંગલમ અનેરા અને VSSM ના સંયુક્ત ઉપક્રમે ચાલતા અમારા છાત્રાલયના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ કબડ્ડીમાં તાલુકા કક્ષાએ દ્વિતીય ક્રમે જીત્યા. ટીમમાંથી પાંચ વિદ્યાર્થીઓની પસંદગી જિલ્લાકક્ષાની ટીમમાં થઈ ને આજે જિલ્લામાં આ ટીમ પ્રથમ ક્રમે આવી. જેમાં અમારા છાત્રાલયમાં ભણતા પાંચ વિદ્યાર્થીઓ હતા. હવે આ ટીમ ઝોનલકક્ષાની કબડ્ડી સ્પર્ધામાં ભાગ લેશે.
અમારા છાત્રાલયમાં આ બાળકોને કબડ્ડી માટે સતત પ્રેકટીસ કરાવનાર અમારા રમતગમતના શિક્ષક શ્રી દિલીપભાઈ, તેમજ ઘનજીભાઈનો સિંહફાળો રહ્યો એમની સાથે અમારા ભૂતપૂર્વ વિદ્યાર્થી અને હાલ સંસ્થામાં ફરજ બજાવતા કરશનભાઈની પણ ઘણી મહેનત..
અમારા છાત્રાલયમાં ભણતા દરેક બાળકે કોઈને કોઈ રમતગમતમાં ફરજિયાત હિસ્સો લેવાનો હોય છે. દિકરીઓની પણ વિવિધ રમતોમાં ટીમ તૈયાર થઈ રહી છે..

As most of you who have been part of our education interventions know, VSSM operates two hostels, one for girls and another for boys. And since the introduction of this initiative, these hostels have functioned in rented properties that have required us to keep relocating for some or other reasons. And each relocation not only gives us logistical challenges but also disrupts the stability of children. If we had our own space, we could focus properly and channel our energies on the education and development of the children. On comprehending our challenges, the respected Shri Chandrakantbhai Gogri – Aarti Family bought land to help us create Vallabh Vidhya Enclave. After performing Bhoomi Pujan, the construction of two hostels, one each for girls and boys, has been initiated.
The upcoming hostels will be large enough to host 1000 children at a time. In addition, the proposed campus will have a school, vocational training canter, sports facilities, and much more.
The campus will also serve as a learning center for those willing to study the nomadic and de-notified communities and understand the efforts required for their rehabilitation and development.

વર્ષોથી ભાડાની જગ્યા પર આપણે છાત્રાલય ચલાવીએ. આ છાત્રાલયની જગ્યાઓ પણ વારંવાર બદલવાની થાય અને એના લીધે બાળકોને ઘણી તકલીફ પડે. પોતાની જગ્યા હોય તો બાળકો શાંતિથી ભણી શકે આપણે પણ તેમની કેળવણીમાં સરખુ ધ્યાન આપી શકીએ. બસ પાનસરમાં આદરણીય ચંદ્રકાન્તભાઈ ગોગરી - આરતી પરિવારે આપણને જમીન આપી અને ત્યાં વલ્લભ વિદ્યા સંકુલના પાયા નંખાયા. ભૂમીપૂજન થયા પછી હવે આ જગ્યા પર બે છાત્રાલયના નિર્માણનું કાર્ય શરૃ થયું. એકમાં દિકરાઓ રહી શકે અને એકમાં દીકરીઓ રહી શકે તેવી વ્યવસ્થા આ છાત્રાલયમાં થશે.
1000 બાળકો રહી શકે એવી આ વ્યવસ્થામાં આગળ નિશાળ, વૈક્લિપક વ્યવસાયની તાલીમ લઈ શકે તે માટે તાલીમ કેન્દ્ર, રમતગમતનું મેદાન વગેરેનું નિર્માણ પણ આગામી દિવસોમાં કરીશું.
આ સિવાય આ સંકુલમાં દેશ અને દુનિયાભરના લોકો વિચરતી જાતિઓના કલ્યાણના કાર્યો કેવી રીતે થઈ શકે તેમનું પુનઃવસન કેવી રીતે કરવું તે શીખવા આવી શકે તે પ્રકારનું બનાવવાનું આયોજન છે.

Kakar is a settlement with a considerable population of Fulvadi families. The once snake charmers, the Fulvadi, now earn their living from agricultural activities or other menial jobs, and in the absence of work, they choose to beg. And all of these options need them to migrate to distant places, hindering their children’s education prospects. As a result, there is not a single boy in the settlement who has studied beyond 9th grade and a girl who has completed 5th grade.
After understanding these peculiar challenges, it was essential to have a residential facility where the children could stay back while their parents migrated. So, after a wait of several years, finally, Smt. Virabahen Meghjibhai Shah (Chanderiya) Hostel was built, and 140 children have been enrolled.
However, these children are not at all inclined towards studying. Our Bal-Dosts Kajal, Ghanashyam, Naran, Vanita, and others are continuously working towards raising their attitude towards learning, but the moment they become tough, the children snap and prepare to leave. Even their parents do not support the efforts. One complaint from the children is they come over to take them back.
“Why do you choose to fight tough battles?” my team members often ask me. And I tell them we will always choose to take the road less traveled, constantly challenge ourselves, and take up tough jobs.
I decided to go and stay with these children for a couple of days. “What do you all wish to become in life?” I inquired. There was no response, I repeated the question a few times, after which some kids responded.
“Didi, I will begin to beg after I complete 8th grade,” said one.
“I will also do the same,” responded another.
“After I complete 8th grade, will any factory employ and pay me Rs. 12,000?” one asked.
“I want to drive an automobile to ferry people!” said one.
Around five kids spoke, but none could think beyond 8th grade, as if the boys had decided to study until 8th and the girls unto grade 4th.
It is often said, “if you stop dreaming, you start dying!” But here, the children have no dreams.
We have an uphill task; the challenges are formidable. But we will continue to endeavor; we are waiting for that one child to shine through, and I know the entire community will follow.
We are grateful for the support of respected Shri Pravinbhai Shah, Shri Piyushbhai Kothari, Jetco Organisation, Mardvibahen, Pallika Kanani, YVO Group, respected Shri Krishnakant Mehta, Indira Mehta in this arduous task. I know that the team will not shy away from pouring their heart and soul into these efforts; kindly pray for our success in realizing this dream of educating the children of Kakar.
શરણાઈ તો બધા વગાડી જાણે પણ સાંબેલું વગાડે એ સાચ્ચો...
અમે સાંબેલું વગાડવાનું અઘરુ કાર્ય હાથ ઘર્યું...
બનાસકાંઠાનું કાકર. ફુલવાદી પરિવારો ત્યાં રહે. સાપના ખેલ કરવાનું હવે રહ્યું નહીં એટલે ખેતી કામ માટે ને એ ન મળે ત્યારે ભીક્ષા માંગીને નભવા અર્થે ફુલવાદી પરિવારો સ્થળાંતર કરે. બાળકો પણ એમની સાથે સ્થળાંતર કરે. પરિણામે એમનું શિક્ષણ બગડે. આખી વસાહતમાં નવ ધોરણથી આગળ ભણેલો એકેય છોકરો ન મળે ને પાંચ ધોરણથી આગળ ભણેલી દીકરી ન મળે.
મા-બાપ બાળકોને વસાહતમાં મુકીને જઈ શકે ને બાળકો ભણી શકે તે માટે અમે શ્રીમતી વિરાબહેન મેઘજીભાઈ શાહ(ચંદેરિયા) છાત્રાલયનું નિર્માણ કર્યું અને 140 બાળકોનો પ્રવેશ થયો.
પણ બાળકોને ભણવું જરાય ગમે નહીં. અમારા બાલદોસ્ત કાજલ, ઘનશ્યામ, નારણ, વનીતા ભણતર માટે જરાક દબાણ કરે કે બાળકો કહી દે અમારે ઘરે જવું છે ને વાલીઓ પણ સામે બાળકોને લઈ જવા તૈયાર.
કાર્યકરો કહે, તમને આવા અઘરા કામો જ કેમ ગમે? ને હું ઉપરનું વિધાન શરણાઈ તો સૌ વગાડે વાળુ કહુ.
આ બાળકો સાથે હમણાં ત્રણ દિવસ રહી. એક દિવસ બધાને પુછ્યું તમારે શું બનવું છે? પહેલાં તો જવાબ જ ન મળ્યો. બે ચાર વાર પુછ્યું પછી કહ્યું,
દીદી આઠ ધોરણ ભણી પસી મોગવા જઈશ.બીજાએ કહ્યું, મુયે આઠ પસી મોગવા જઈશ.ત્રીજાએ કહ્યું આઠ ભણું પસી ફેકટરીમાં બાર હજારના પગારવાળી નોકરી મલ?ચોથાએ કહ્યું મારે તો સટલિયું ચલાબ્બુ હ્....
પાંચેક છોકરાંઓએ સ્વપ્ન કહ્યા એ પણ ઉપર જણાવ્યા પ્રમાણેના...
છોકરાંઓ ધો. 8 સુધી ભણવાનું નક્કી કરે ને દીકરીઓ ધો.5...
સપના મરી જાય એ માણસ મરી જાય એમ કહે પણ અહીંયા તો સપના જ નથી...
અમારે ઘણું મથવાનું છે.. ને મથીશું. બસ અહીંયાથી કોઈક દીકરો કે દીકરી ભણીને આગળ નીકળી જાય તો આખો સમાજ એની પાછળ નીકળી જશે...
અમારા આવા કઠણ કાર્યમાં આદરણીય પ્રવિણભાઈ શાહ, શ્રી પિયુશભાઈ કોઠારી, જેટકો સંસ્થા, માર્દવીબેન, પલ્લીકા કાનાણી, YVO ગ્રુપ, આદરણીય ક્રિષ્ણકાંત મહેતા, ઈન્દિરા મહેતા વગેરે સ્વજનોની મદદ મળી રહી છે એ માટે આભારી છીએ. બસ સફળ થશું એ માટે તમે સૌ પ્રાર્થના કરજો...
બાકી મહેનતમાં પાછા નહીં પડીએ એ નક્કી....

Drashti hails from the Bajaniya community, which has very poor performance on the education front, especially girl child education. However, Drashti’s Uncle enrolled her in VSSM operated hostel while she was very small. Today, Drashti completed education up to 12th grade and a para-medical course. The interest kindled by the para-medical course has enthused her to enroll for General Nursing Course.
“If I become a head nurse, it entitles a separate cabin!” Drashti aspires to be one.
“There would be many girls of your age in your village; what do they do?” I inquired.
“Didi, they are married by this age; many would have birthed a child by now!” Dhrashti responded.
Apart from educational backwardness, the Bajaniya are notorious for their practice of child marriages. Most of the children are either engaged or married by the age of 15-16 years. So Dhrashti’s father is concerned about her chances of getting married..
“Why would she not find a partner? She is smart and educated. And we are there to find her one if you have difficulties in doing so.” Dharshti’s father would give a faint smile and agree to our reasoning.
We wish Dhrashti a bright and happy future. May others from her community inspire to follow her foot-steps!
દૃષ્ટિ બજાણિયા સમુદાયમાંથી આવે. શિક્ષણનું પ્રમાણ આ સમુદાયમાં ઘણું ઓછુ. એમાંય દીકરીઓ તો સ્નાતક સુધી ભાગ્યેજ ભણે.
દૃષ્ટિના કાકા કનુભાઈ દૃષ્ટિને અમારી હોસ્ટેલમાં એ નાની હતી ત્યારે લઈ આવેલા. આજે એણે ધો. 12 પુરુ કર્યું અને GNM(જનરલ નર્સીગ કોર્સ) કરવાનું એ કરશે.
આમ તો એણે ધો.10 પાસ કરી પેરામેડીકલ કોર્સ પણ ધો.12ની સાથે કર્યો. મેડીકલ લાઈનમાં એને પેરામેડીકલ કોર્સ કરવાના લીધે જ રસ જાગ્યો.
એને હેડ નર્સ બનવું છે. એ કહે, 'હેડ નર્સ બનીએ તો જુદી કેબીન મળે.'
દૃષ્ટિને પુછ્યું કે, 'તારા જેવડી તારા ગામમાં રહેતી અન્ય દીકરીઓ શું કરે?'
જરા શરમાઈને એણે કહ્યું, 'દીદી એ લોકોના તો લગ્નય થઈ ગયા. ઘણી તો એક છોકરાની મા પણ બની ગઈ.'
દૃષ્ટિ જે સમાજમાંથી આવે ત્યાં એના જેવડી દીકરીઓની સગાઈ કે લગ્ન અત્યાર સુધી થઈ જ જાય. પણ દૃષ્ટિ કે છે હું બચી ગઈ. એના પપ્પાને, દૃષ્ટિની હાલ સગાઈ નહીં કરીએ તો પછી છોકરો નહીં મળેની ચિંતા રહ્યા કરે છે.
પણ અમે સમજાવીયે કે ભણેલી છે તો શું કામ છોકરો નહીં મળે? અને ન મળે તો અમે બેઠા છીએ ને? સાંભળીને એ હસે પણ અમારી વાત એમણે પણ માન્ય રાખી. એટલે દૃષ્ટિ ભણવામાં વધારે ફોકસ કરી શકી.
દૃષ્ટિને આ સ્તરે પહોંચાડવામાં અમારી શિક્ષણ ટીમ ડીમ્પલબેન પરીખ, વિનતા. બીજોલ, વિજય, કોકીલા, જય વગેરે સૌનો ફાળો ખુબ મોટો...
દૃષ્ટિને ઉજ્જવળ ભવિષ્યની શુભકામના... એને જોઈને સમાજની અન્ય દીકરીઓ પણ ભણતી થાય તેવું ઈચ્છીએ..

Hungry for education!
The leaders from the Vadhiyari Devipujak community reached us with a request to hold a gathering to raise funds to build a hostel for educating their children.
I attended the gathering organized at Patan’s Varana village. It is a delight to know that the community is working to educate its children. VSSM has decided to support its efforts. The best part of this is even the smallest individual contributed towards the proposed hostel.
While the community is trying its best to raise the required amount, we have offered to provide the remaining balance amount. However, the fact that the community has finally woken up to the need to educate its children has appealed us the most. We appreciate these efforts and wish the community leaders all the very best in their efforts.
શિક્ષણની ભૂખ ઊઘડી.
અમારી ઓફીસ પર વઢિયારી દેવીપૂજક સમુદાયના આગેવાનો પોતાના વિસ્તારમાં બાળકો માટે હોસ્ટેલ બનાવવાની ઈચ્છાને લઈને એક સંમેલન આયોજીત કરવાની ઈચ્છાને લઈને આવ્યા.
પાટણના વરાણામાં આયોજીત આ સંમેલનમાં જવાનું થયું. ભણતર માટે એમણે કમરકશી એ જાણીને રાજી થવાયું બસ અમે એમની સાથે..
સૌથી અગત્યનું સમાજના નાનામાં નાના માણસે પોતાનો ફાળો આ શિક્ષણ સંકુલ માટે આપવાનું કર્યું.
ખૂટતામાં અમે મદદ કરીશુંનું અમે કહ્યું. પણ શિક્ષણ માટેની જાગૃતિની તેમની વાત ખુબ ગમી..
વઢિયારી દેવીપૂજક સમુદાયના સૌ આગેવાનોને આ પહેલ માટે શુભેચ્છાઓ.. બસ તેઓ સફળ થાય તેમ ઈચ્છીએ...

The statement took me by surprise. “Why?” I asked Prakash, who has been with our hostel since 6th grade.
“My mother passed away when I was a small child. My father knew nothing about
education, so he sent me to this hostel; I still don’t know why. Nonetheless, it was a blessing in disguise as VSSM’s hostel exposed me to a completely new world and opportunities. Otherwise, I would have been married and fathered a child by this age….” Prakash shares with a hint of shyness.
Donations from our will-wishing friends fuel VSSM’s education and many other initiatives. We also have donors walk into our office with books, school bags, and stationery supplies. Such visits allow the children to interact with compassionate and empathetic individuals who talk about giving back to society. These interactions and impressions have made a positive impact on Prakash’s mind. As a result, he now wishes to donate to VSSM and other voluntary organizations doing remarkable work.
Prakash has completed his 12th grade, along with finishing a paramedical course after grade 10th. It was tough for him to finish the two studies together. The paramedical course was conducted at Shalby Institute, where the timings stretched from 9 to 6.30 in the evenings. After returning from the course, Prakash had to attend tutorials for his 12th grade. After successfully finishing both courses, Prakash heads to Baroda for his general nursing course.
VSSM’s Dimpleben Parikh makes tremendous efforts to push these children to complete their schooling along with a professional course. The education team comprising Vanita, Bijol, Kokila, Pravin, Jay, and others strives to ensure these children achieve their highest potential.
We wish Prakash all the best with his future endeavors. May he achieve his dreams!

'દીદી મારે VSSMના ડોનર બનવું છે'
સાંભળીને ઘડીક તો નવાઈ લાગી. પછી છઠ્ઠા ધોરણથી અમારી હોસ્ટેલમાં ભણતા પ્રકાશને પુછ્યું કેમ?
એણે કહ્યું, 'નાનો હતો ને મા ગુજરી ગઈ. પપ્પાને બહુ ભણતરમાં ગતાગમ ન પડે પણ એમણે મને હોસ્ટેલમાં મુકી દીધો. કેમ એ ખબર નથી. પણ અહીંયા આવ્યા પછી મે નવી દુનિયા જોઈ. ઘરે રહ્યો હોત અત્યારે હું પરણી ગયો હોત ને ભલુ હોત તો એકાદ છોકરુ...'
આટલું કહેતા પ્રકાશ જરા શરમાઈ ગયો.
હોસ્ટેલમાં ભણતા અમારા આ બધા બાળકોના ભણતરમાં ઘણા પ્રિયજનો મદદ કરે. એ બધા જ્યારે આ બાળકો માટે ચોપડા, દફ્તર લઈને આવે કે એમને મળવા આવે ત્યારે અવનવી વાતો થાય. જેમાં કમાયા હોઈએ એમાંથી સોસાયટીને આપવાની વાત પ્રથમ ક્રમે રહેતી.
પ્રકાશના મનમાં આ વાત બરાબર બેસી ગઈ માટે એને ડોનર બનવું છે. એ vssm સિવાય પર સારુ કાર્ય કરતી સંસ્થાઓને મદદ કરશે એમ કહે..
ધો. 12 એણે પરુ કર્યું. એણે પેરામેડીકલ કોર્સ ધો.10 પછી કર્યો અને ખાસ એ કોર્સની સાથે સાથે જ એણે 12મુ પુરુ કર્યું.
ભણવામાં કષ્ટ બહુ પડ્યું. મેડીકલ કોર્સ માટે 9 થી 6.30 શેલ્બી ઈન્સ્ટીટ્યુટમાં જવાનું ને આવીને ધો.12 માટે ટ્યુશનને, વાંચવાનું..
પણ પ્રકાશે એ પુર્ણ કર્યું. હવે એ જનરલ નર્સીગ કરવા માટે બરોડા જશે..
અમારા ડીમ્પલબેન પરીખની મહેનત પ્રકાશ ને એના જેવા અન્ય બાળકો કોર્સની સાથે ધો,.12 પૂર્ણ કરે તે માટે ઘણી. વનીતા, બીજોલ, કોકીલા, પ્રવિણ, જય વગેરે સૌ બાલદોસ્તોએ એમને સહયોગ કર્યો.
પ્રકાશે જોયેલું સ્વપ્ન સાકાર થાય તેવી શુભભાવના...
